Caramany is tucked away in a beautiful natural setting. With the backdrop of the austere blue Corbières mountains, the village rises up, perched on a rocky outcrop dominated by an imposing castle and the church.
All of which overlook the river Agly valley where many archaeological remains were discovered during the construction of the dam.
The lake, ideal for hiking and coarse fishing, is going to be a real asset for the future. The excellent cave cooperative (winery), with its own appellation, has won many awards bringing the wine much deserved acclaim for its quality. The village is particularly popular during the summer, when the village hosts many social events, throughout this pleasant period.
The 7 ‘gites’ owned by the village, the Grand Rocher Inn, and also the well-shaded campsite La Bade, welcome you for a pleasant stay.
