Ansignan is seen as the " Fenouilledes Centre " because it lies at the intersection of three local cantons: Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet, Sournia and Latour-de-France. The village is situated on a hill overlooking the valley of the river Agly.
The Aqueduct in Ansignan dates back to the Roman period (third century) and has been listed as a historical monument since 1974. It consists of 29 arches, and it measures 170 meters long. This iconic construction is in an exceptional state of preservation.
There are two swimming/picnic areas (unsupervised) in Angignan. The Agly lake has many tourist attractions such as hiking or biking trails, boating and fishing in the lake.
